Introducing ACL Asia Pacific

18th March 2025

A new era for slot coordination in the region

Airport Coordination Limited (ACL) is excited to announce the launch of ACL Asia Pacific Coordination Pty Ltd, a dedicated entity established to deliver world-class slot coordination and capacity management services in Sydney and across the Asia Pacific region.

With nearly 80 airports in 12 countries already benefiting from ACL’s expertise, the creation of ACL Asia Pacific marks a significant milestone in our commitment to supporting Australian aviation. As the newly appointed slot manager for Sydney Airport, our mission is clear: to enhance transparency, efficiency, and stakeholder collaboration in one of the region’s most important aviation hubs.

What Sets ACL Apart?

At ACL, we believe slot coordination should be more than just an administrative process, it should drive real, measurable benefits for airports, airlines, and passengers alike. That’s why we’re bringing three key principles to Sydney and the Asia-Pacific region:

  • Unmatched Transparency – We publish all slot information in real time, ensuring maximum visibility for stakeholders to track and manage airport capacity effectively.
  • Global Expertise, Local Focus – With a combined 275 years of experience in our team, ACL has successfully managed complex slot environments worldwide. Our Australian-based team will bring this global knowledge to Sydney while tailoring solutions to the region’s unique needs.
  • Stakeholder-Driven Approach – Slot coordination shouldn’t be static. We continuously invest in new systems, engage in global slot policy discussions, and evolve our services to benefit the entire aviation community.

A Fully Independent Service

At ACL, independence is at the heart of everything we do. We operate free from influence by any single airline, airport, or government body, ensuring fair and neutral slot coordination for all stakeholders.

To maintain this independence, ACL Asia Pacific has been set up with clear governance structures and safeguards in place. These strong “firewalls” separate our coordination activities from any external interests, guaranteeing transparent, unbiased decision-making that benefits the entire aviation community.

Looking Ahead

With our Australian incorporation complete and preparations underway, ACL Asia Pacific will be fully operational as Sydney Airport’s slot manager from 1 April 2025. We have recruited local expertise to build a best-in-class team, ensuring a smooth transition and a seamless experience for all aviation stakeholders.

We’re excited to embark on this journey and look forward to playing a key role in shaping the future of Australian aviation.
